Karen McCalla is the 2022 Vermont State Teacher of the Year, teacher librarian at Mill River Union in southwestern Vermont, executive director at The MINT, Rutland's community makerspace and a FIRST robotics coach and mentor. She's passionate about the power of hands-on learning for students and excited to help prepare students for life after high school. She advocates for more equitable access to STEAM learning for all students, PK-12 throughout Vermont.
