Anti-racism and Equity in the K-3 School Library

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

This workshop, or more accurately, work session, is for K-3 librarians interested in exploring ways to create more inclusive and equitable library spaces and lessons for our youngest learners. This session will be a work and brainstorm session and will focus on the following:
  • Using the social justice standards from Learning for Justice as a guide to develop lessons.
  • Identify ways to integrate these standards with our AASL standards so anti-racism equity and justice education is ongoing.
  • Share resources and ideas for personal and professional learning in this area.
  • Identify ways to continue to support each other in this work.
We have thought through some initial focus areas to get us started and realize that this work is about more than lessons. We will identify other areas for future focus and will welcome your ideas as we move forward.
