While it is at the heart of many schools' vision and mission statements, service to the community can end up on the back burner in the face of more immediate concerns. However, when students and teachers become active citizens globally and good neighbors locally, they can be the vehicle for educational excellence that is celebrated in the community. Telling these stories of hope and impact can be the fuel for teacher recruitment, community pride, student admissions, and a distinctive school culture. In this workshop, participants will build a plan for integrating service into classes and campus activities, with special attention focused on the tools and systems for effectively telling stories of students making a difference in the lives of others.
