In 2002 global EdTech took a massive step forward with the implementation of the Maine Learning Technology Initiative (MLTI). That year 1:1 entered the mainstream, as all 7th Grade public school students and teachers in Maine received Apple iBooks in a ground breaking program that provided devices, wireless networks, technical support, building-based teacher leadership, along with ubiquitous access to professional development for teachers and leadership. In 2003 Maine's Grade 8 joined the MLTI, which expanded to other grade levels and continued for almost 20 years.

Join Jim Moulton. one of those involved with the original MLTI since before the 2002 rollout, to hear about what's being learned through the video project he has undertaken. He's recording conversations with folks who were deeply involved in the early days of this groundbreaking innovation. Participants to date have included classroom teachers, students, technology directors & integrationists, and Maine's then Commissioner of Education.
